Columbia man arrested, accused of running away from officers

Columbia police arrested Nathan Canfield on Tuesday night after being accused of fleeing from police.

Police said they observed Canfield as a wanted subject in the 3600 block of Southland Drive.

Officers said when they attempted to stop Canfield, he ran from officers and evaded arrest.

More than 30 minutes later, police observed Canfield’s vehicle in the 1100 block of East Walnut.

Officers said they conducted a traffic stop near the area of Business Loop 70 East and Poplar Street, and made contact with Canfield.

Canfield was arrested and faces possible charges of resisting arrest, and an outstanding felony warrant.

Canfield’s bond is $30,000.
