Officers believe driver fell asleep, causing car crash in Osage Beach

Osage Beach officers responded to a car crash on West Highway 54 at the Case Road exit on Monday.

Officers said Ricky Webb, the driver of a Chevy Avalanche, ran off the right side of Highway 54, striking the Case Road exit sign.

Officers said the crash was caused by Webb falling asleep at the wheel.

Officers said Webb’s vehicle continued forward where it struck the guardrail alongside the ramp on to Case Road. The car traveled over the top of the guardrail, coming to a stop on top of the guardrail.

Debris from the crash caused damage to another vehicle that was traveling west on the Case Road exit, officers said..

Webb and the passenger in his vehicle sustained minor injuries.

The vehicle that caught the debris was drivable and the passengers inside were not hurt.

Webb’s vehicle had extensive damage.
