Columbia man arrested, accused of pushing his way into an apartment, resisting arrest

Columbia police arrested Joshua Perry early Sunday morning after they were called to the Campus Lodge Apartments in reference to a residential burglary.

Police said the investigation revealed that Perry knocked on the door of a residence. The victim cracked the front door to see what Perry needed and Perry pushed his way into the apartment, police said.

Perry was told multiple times by the victim to leave, but did not do so, police said.

When officers tried to arrest Perry, he pulled away and continued walking, police said.

Police said Perry and the officer went to the ground where Perry continued to resist arrest.

Perry was eventually arrested, and is facing possible charges of trespassing and resisting arrest.
