Breezy, hot, and humid for Monday
TODAY: The summer heat will build back into Mid-Missouri as we head through the day on Monday. Thanks to a ridge building into the eastern half of the country, temperatures will warm into the mid and upper 80s. It will also be a gusty day, as winds will be out of the southeast up to 15 mph and gusting up to 24 mph. Increased humidity will allow heat indices will approach 90 degrees. Morning clouds are expected and then gradually becoming mostly sunny through the day.
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy skies and breezy conditions will hold on through the night as winds remain out of the southeast up to 14 mph with gusts as high as 21 mph. Temperatures will be mild and muggy as overnight lows drop into the mid 60s.
EXTENDED: Tuesday will be hot and muggy like Monday with more cloud coverage with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Tuesday night into Wednesday, a better chance of showers and thunderstorms return as a cold front pulls through the region, bringing beneficial rain to Mid-Missouri. The rain chances hold on through the majority of the week as upper level disturbances make their way into mid-Mo. Due to the rain and frontal boundary, we’ll see temperatures drop from the mid-80s into the low to mid 70s as we carry on through the week. Rain amounts will exceed two inches in many spots.
