Building heat in Mid-Missouri bring summer’s revenge

TONIGHT: It will be a cool night across Mid-Missouri, as temperatures fall into the low to mid 50s. We will see some clouds on the increase from the west which could bring a few sprinkles. Winds will remain out of the east under 10 mph.

SUNDAY: Clouds will be around for the morning, with a small chance for a spot shower near Hwy 65. As the heat of the day gets underway, we’ll see mostly sunny skies and temperatures warm into the upper 70s. Winds will begin to shift out of the southeast under 12 mph. Despite the wind shift, it will still feel comfortable outside with temperature only a few degrees above average.

EXTENDED: Summer-like weather returns as we begin the work week with high temperatures climbing into the mid-80s and nights warm into the lower 60s. Tuesday night into Wednesday, a chance of showers and thunderstorms return, as a cold front pulls through the region. This frontal boundary looks to stall to our south and keeping rain in the forecast from Tuesday night on into the weekend. Thanks to the rain and frontal boundary, we’ll see temperatures drop from the mid-80s into the lwo to mid 70s as we carry on through the week. Rain amounts will approach an inch in many spots, bringing beneficial rain to the region. Watch ABC17 News for the latest forecast and follow ABC17 Stormtrack on Twitter for updates.
