Cooler temps a welcoming sight in Mid-Missouri
TODAY: Temperatures this afternoon are significantly cooler than what we have been seeing thanks to a frontal boundary. Even with the frontal passage, cloudy skies and light rain showers are still with us this afternoon. The light rain will gradually pull to the south, as the surface front continues to track out of Missouri. Temperatures today will top out in the low to mid 70s, with winds out of the northeast winds of 15 mph and gusts as high as 22.
TONIGHT: It will be a cool night as lows drop into the low 50s under clearing skies. Northerly winds will remain light under 6 mph.
EXTENDED: The rest of the week and weekend will stay dry with highs in the 70s and nights in the upper 40s to lower 50s as high pressure builds over the region. For Sports Zone Football Friday, temperatures will be much cooler, in the low 70s by kickoff and cooling into the mid 60s by the end of the fourth quarter. Saturday and Sunday temperatures will slowly rise, but remaining mild and dry for Roots N Blues N BBQ. There is a weak warm front moving through next Monday which could produce isolated t-storms but at this time the forecast is mainly dry into next week with warming temperatures. Daytime highs will jump back into the 80s early next week with nights warming into the 60s as a warmer weather pattern returns.
