Minor damage to JJ’s Cafe after fire
The Columbia Fire Department is investigating a small fire that caused minor damage to JJ’s Cafe Wednesday morning.
According to Division Chief Jerry Jenkins, employees saw smoke coming from an electrical outlet in the front wall of the restaurant. Jenkins said it’s not clear if it was an electrical problem that started the fire.
Minimal damage was done to the outside of the restaurant and there was no damage inside the building. The fire department had to use some water to put out the fire, so firefighters used fans to help dry out the front part of the restaurant.
No one was injured in the fire.
Jenkins said he believes the restaurant should be able to re-open today.
