Boonville diner owner charged with failing to remit sales tax

Boonville diner owner Carol Clark has been charged with failing to remit the sales tax due for 19 monthly sales tax periods.

Clark is the owner of Prairie Home Diner, a restaurant required to collect sales tax on all retail sales.

Back in 2016, Clark pleded guilty in Cooper County to making retail sales without a retail sales tax license. She was given two years unsupervised probation and must pay the past due sales tax.

According the the probable cause statement, the state of Missouri incurred a loss of $17,240.91 because of Clark.

As of this month, Clark’s sales tax account remains delinquent.
