Summer-like heat returns for Labor Day
TODAY: After a mild start to the day, we’ll see temperatures rapidly warm into the upper 80s through the afternoon hours. Sunny conditions are expected, with very few clouds through the day. Despite the southerly winds under 7 mph, the humidity will remain on the low side.
TONIGHT: We will see temperatures bottom out in the mid 60s under mostly clear skies. Dry conditions will persist throughout the evening with winds out of the south around 5 mph.
EXTENDED: Summer-like heat returns Monday as we reach 90 degrees for Labor Day with abundant sunshine and heat index values feeling in the mid 90s. A chance of rain comes Monday night into Tuesday morning as a cold front moves through which will cool temperatures back to the mid 70s on Tuesday. Rainfall looks meager, as most locations will likely see less than .25″, however, our far southwestern counties could see higher amounts. Much cooler air settles in for the middle of next week with days in the low to mid 70s and nights in the upper 40s to lower 50s, feeling like fall for the second half of the week.
