Four charged in Cole County burglaries

Cole County prosecuted four people in connection to two burglaries that happened in early morning hours on Wednesday.

Danielle Rice, David Rice Jr., Hannah Means and Travis Webb have been charged with first and second-degree burglary.

Cole County deputies were investigating two convenience store burglaries; one in Russellville and one in Jefferson City. Both locations had their front window smashed.

According to court documents, Moniteau County deputies responded Wednesday morning to a shots fired call in California. As they were investigating, they found a large amount of cigarette cartons hidden in a crawl space. Deputies say residents at the location admitted they had broken into two convenience stores in Cole County hours earlier.

Travis Webb, a resident at the location in California, gave permission to search the residence. According to deputies, they found knives, cigarettes and lighters that matched items stolen from the convenience stores.

David Rice admitted to using a car jack handle to break the glass of the stores according to police.

Danielle Rice told police she drove the car to both locations and waited in the car, police said.

According to court documents, all four suspects admitted to planning the burglaries in advance.
