Woman accused of starting fires in Jefferson City bank

A woman was charged in Cole County on Wednesday, after she was accused of starting multiple fires inside of a Jefferson City bank.

It happened at the Providence Bank on Ellis Boulevard in July.

Jefferson City police responded to the bank for an alarm. When they got there, Amanda Glass was reportedly standing out front screaming “Help me” and “I’m a citizen of the United States.”

Officers took her to St. Mary’s Hospital when they suspected she was under the influence of narcotics.

Glass is accused of starting four fires inside the business, tearing up two desk phones and breaking a couple of computer screens.

A lighter was also found in her pocket after the incident.

She is now charged with burglary, arson and property damage.
