Sedalia man charged with drug trafficking after a three-month investigation

SEDALIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Sedalia man is facing multiple charges after a three-month investigation into a drug operation leads to his arrest.

A Pettis County prosecutor has charged William Taylor with first-degree drug trafficking, delivery of a controlled substance, stealing - a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm.

In a release, Sedalia police report on Tuesday, they executed four search warrants across the city that came from the investigation into Taylor.

At 2:54 p.m., Taylor was stopped in a vehicle. Police reported finding meth in the vehicle.

According to the release, in another part of Sedalia, investigators served a search warrant at the Budget Inn at 4710 S. Limit Ave. where a gun and money were seized. The gun was later confirmed stolen according to police.

Police also searched Taylor's apartment on the 2300 block of W. Main St. Police reportedly found a pound of meth and other evidence at this location according to the release.

Officials report they seized one and a half pounds of meth.

Taylor has a $75,000 cash or surety bond. Taylor did not have a lawyer listed in court records.
