Crews battling fire at Jefferson City restaurant
UPDATE 10:28 a.m.: According to an official press release, firefighters used dry chemical fire extinguishers to contain the fire to the electrical service panels.
Arris’ Pizza had no damage to the interior part of the business, but electrical service will be shut off while repairs are being made, keeping it closed until those repairs are complete.
Owners of the business were on the scene working with JCFD and Ameren UE.
UPDATE 9:10 a.m.: Jefferson City fire crews told ABC 17 News the transformer on the outside of the Arris’ Pizza building ignited Wednesday morning.
The fire did not cause any significant damage to the inside of the building nor did it cause any injuries.
The restaurant remains without power as of 9 a.m. Wednesday.
ORIGINAL: The division chief for the Jefferson City Fire Department told ABC 17 News that crews responded to a fire at Arris’ Pizza in the 100 block of High Street Wednesday morning.
The restaurant is across the street from the Missouri State Capitol and next door to the U.S. Postal Service building.
JCFD officials could not say if any injuries occurred or comment on the full extent of the damage caused by the fire.
