Isolated strong to severe storms this evening

TODAY: Temperatures today will climb into the upper 80s with partly sunny skies and southwesterly winds up to 8 mph. After 7 PM, spotty storms are possible in our northwestern counties, tracking to the southeast through the evening. Storms will be hit and miss. Most western counties are under a slight risk for severe weather with a decreased threat as you head east. Isolated storms that develop this evening could contain strong wind gusts up to 60 mph and large hail, the size of quarters.

TONIGHT: These storms will continue overnight and push to our far southeastern counties by 4 AM. Skies will remain partly cloudy as temperatures drop into the mid 60s with calm conditions.

EXTENDED: Saturday will be mostly sunny and warm with high temperatures in the upper 80s and a light northwesterly breeze, making for a great late-summer day. Sunday will be hot and more humid as temperatures reach 90 under partly cloudy skies. The humidity will make it feel like the low to mid 90s. Eclipse day continues to show the greatest chance for partly cloudy skies, along with a chance for some isolated storms through the morning. Temperatures will reach close to 87 at the start of the eclipse and fall to the low 70s by mid-eclipse, due to the lack of solar insulation. As the eclipse ends, temperatures will rise back into the low to mid 80s. A better chance of storms moves in Tuesday afternoon ahead of a cold front.
