UPDATE: Two Union Pacific trains crash in Gasconade County, one taken to hospital
UPDATE: Two Union Pacific trains were involved in the crash. One train rear ended the other while both were headed eastbound on the tracks.
One train had six railcars derailed, and the other had two locomotives and one railcar derailed, according to Union Pacific Railroad. The crash happened in Gasconade County and spread to Osage County.
One conductor was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Each train had a two-person crew aboard and there was no indication that materials were released.
Route 100 is opening back up, but the railroad will be closed to train traffic for a few hours.
ORIGINAL STORY: ABC 17 News has confirmed with the Missouri State Highway Patrol that two trains involved in a crash near Morrison. They got the call around 1:40 p.m.
The extent of injuries and where the actual crash took place in Gasconade County is still unclear.
