Teen arrested for burglary, drugs

A 17-year-old is in the Boone County Jail after he was caught transporting drugs. He is believed to be connected to a burglary.

According to Centralia police, George Owens was arrested for reportedly trying to move a quarter-pound of marijuana.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department was already looking for Owens in connection with a burglary in late June.

Deputies say a home on Route Z was broken into when the residents were away. Deputies say Owens knew the residents.

Owens has been charged with the burglary.
