Man sentenced to prison after making threatening calls to Fulton school

A Jefferson City man who made threatening phone calls to Fulton Middle School last year learned his punishment on Monday.

Courtney Reid, 38, plead guilty to making a terroristic threat after he admitted to making the calls on Aug. 29, 2016. He admitted he made the calls to shut down the school.

In the first call, Reid pretended to be a man named “Dennis” who was angry he was not allowed to see his children and said he was on his way to the school. Reid called the school again, pretending to be another man named “Michael” who was trying to stop “Dennis” from coming to the school while armed with a gun.

Both the middle school and Bush Elementary were temporarily put on lockdown during the investigation.

Reid was sentenced to two years in prison.
