Several wrecks slow I-70 westbound near St. Charles exit Friday afternoon

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Four vehicles wrecked on Interstate 70 near the St. Charles Road and Lake of the Woods Road exit slowing traffic on Friday afternoon.

Boone County Joint Communications alerted the public of traffic congestion on I-70 at 4:36 p.m.

Missouri Department of Transportation Traveler Map reports a two-vehicle wreck past the St. Charles Road and Lake of the Woods Road exit at mile marker 131.2.

Columbia fire officials reported westbound traffic was backed up past Route Z on I-70.

Live video from the scene of the wreck near St. Charles Road exit showed the scene clearing around 5:19 p.m., a few minutes ahead of schedule.
