Woman charged after allegedly stealing purse in McDonald’s

A woman is charged in Jefferson City after allegedly stealing another woman’s purse in a local McDonald’s.

Police say Latoya Brimer stole the purse at a McDonald’s on Jefferson Street on June 9. The victim said she was waiting for her food when Brimer began trying to take her purse away. Multiple witnesses said the two struggled before the victim fell to the floor and Brimer ran away with the purse. The victim said she had severe bruising and required stitches on her hand.

During police questioning, Brimer admitted to stealing the purse to fuel a drug habit. She’s charged with second-degree assault and robbery.
