High-speed chase ends in crash, suspect flees on foot

Police in Jefferson City said at least one suspect is at large after a high-speed chase through mid-Missouri Thursday morning.

It started just before 2 a.m. when police tried to stop a small passenger car for traffic violations and suspected warrants.

The driver did not stop and led officers from JCPD and Holt’s Summit on a high-speed pursuit.

Cole County and Callaway County’s sheriff’s departments were both involved, as well as the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The chase came to an end just north of Holt’s Summit on La Char Drive when the suspect’s car crashed.

Police said the suspect escaped the scene on foot and is still at large.

Officers would not give a suspect description but said the car was not reported or suspected stolen.
