Trash disposal company officials sit with Boone Co. commissioners to fix trash pick-up issues
Advanced Disposal officials met with Boone County commissioners Tuesday morning to clear up why some residents didn’t have their trashed picked up over the past couple of weeks.
The company told ABC 17 News last week that it took over AAA Waste Management July 14, and during the transition, five of the seven drivers from AAA didn’t join the Advanced Disposal team and caused the delay.
During the meeting Tuesday, Dan Buckley, general manager of the Advanced Disposal northern Missouri district, said the company will send letters to their customers informing them about the merger of the two companies and how services may change.
A customer of Advanced Disposal said he has never had problems with the company until the past two weeks.
He told ABC 17 News that employees of the company promised him twice that they would come and pick up his trash last week. The trash wasn’t picked up until noon Tuesday.
The customer said the company planned to reimburse him for the week they did not pick up his trash. The reimbursement will be about $6.
Boone County commissioners said they were looking into regulating trash services so similar issues could be prevented in the future, but decided regulations at this time are not what is best for the county.
