Boonville man killed in crash

A 29-year-old man died after a single-car crash on Highway 5 in Cooper County Saturday morning.

The crash happened just north of Eastwood Road around 9:15 a.m.

The Highway Patrol said the driver, John Dicus, went off the left side of the road and crashed into two brick driveway approaches.

Dicus was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the crash report, he wasn’t wearing a seat belt.

The Cooper County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Highway Patrol.
