Man connected to Demaret Drive armed incident turns himself in

A man charged in a June weapons incident turned himself in at the Cole County Jail on Monday and was released after posting bond.

Marquis Thorpe, 22, was charged in Boone County on Monday for unlawful use of a weapon.

Thorpe is suspected of showing a gun and taking marijuana a from several individuals in the 700 block of Demaret Drive on June 18.

Thorpe’s bond on the Boone County warrant was $4,500. He also had an outstanding warrant from Cole County with a $2,500 bond.
