Spot storms possible through Monday evening

TODAY: This afternoon we’re seeing the return of the humid conditions, thanks to southerly winds. Temperatures are in the low to mid 80s and are expected to continue to climb to near 90 degrees as we head through the day. There is a chance we could see a few spot storms through the day, mainly along and south of Interstate 70. Winds through the day will remain out of the southeast under 8 mph.

TONIGHT: Tonight we will see a continued chance for isolated thunderstorms, but most areas will stay dry. Temperatures will be dropping into the upper 60s with partly cloudy skies. The storms we do see will be increasing from the west and set the stage for what will be a wet holiday period.

EXTENDED: For the Fourth of July, periods of storms are expected all day and overnight across the entire viewing area. A Marginal Risk for severe weather exists for areas west of US 63 for Tuesday. The primary threat will be isolated thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds and large hail. Accumulation from Monday and Tuesday rain is expected reach near 0.5″-1.5″, with areas to our west seeing the most accumulation. Expect seasonal temperatures this week, reaching into the mid to upper 80s each day. Drier and warmer weather will enter the picture by Thursday with highs in the 90s.
