Two injured in overnight Miller County crash

A 21-year-old woman was seriously injured in a single-car crash in Miller County early Sunday.

The crash happened around 3:45 a.m. on Route 42 east of Route 132.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the driver, Timothy Mackenzie, 24, of Brumley, swerved to avoid hitting a deer, went off the road and hit a tree.

His passenger, Sara Hollandsworth, of Brumley, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Mackenzie was transported to the hospital with moderate injuries.

Troopers said neither of them were wearing a seat belt.
