Rain and storm chance late Friday evening

TODAY: The early afternoon hours will bring us partial sunshine with temperatures rising into the lower 80s. Areas that see longer periods of sunshine may see a warmer high in the mid 80s. Areas south of I-70 has the potential to see spotty showers in the early afternoon. Another chance for rain movies in again late this evening into early Saturday morning as a cold front slowly moves south of I-70. The best chance for storm development will be along and south of I-70, with the chance for a few isolated showers to the north.

SATURDAY: Rain chances will quickly dry up as we head into Saturday morning with skies gradually clearing out. Expect mostly sunny skies for the start of your weekend with temperatures reaching into the mid 80s. Heat indices will also be in the mid 80s due to low dew points. Winds will remain gentle around 5-7 mph out of the west.

EXTENDED: This weekend looks dry until late-day Sunday with high temperatures in the mid to upper 80s with humidity remaining low. However, as we head into next week a warm front lifts northward, setting the stage for another active start to the work week. The storm chances increases late Sunday night into Monday. The humid weather returns Monday as high temperatures reach the mid to upper 80s. Periods of storms are likely through the middle of next week with seasonal temperatures, reaching the mid to upper 80s each day.
