Man arrested after leading authorities on foot chase in Callaway County

Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 6700 block of Old US Highway 40 east of Kingdom City for a reported suspicious person in the area who’d been attempting to break into a business structure.

A Callaway County deputy found the suspect, David Schuenemeyer, 35, of Gearald, on foot near a business structure. As the deputy approached, Schuenemeyer fled on-foot, leading the deputy on a foot chase. Several other county deputies, along with troopers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded.

Because of the location of the the North Callaway High School and North Callaway T-Bird Learning Center, the school district officials were contacted so they could secure the school buildings.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded with K-9 units to assist with the search and eventually found Schuenemeyer.

Schuenemeyer was charged with second degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, felony resisting arrest and property damage. Schuenemeyer has a bond of $8,000.
