Eclipse 2017 is just eight weeks away

Eclipse 2017 is eight weeks away.

If you have friends or family coming to town, they’d better be staying with you.

Hotels and motels around Mid-Missouri are filling up fast.

When ABC 17 News called around and checked online hotel sites, we found the larger hotels are nearly all sold out.

Airbnb had a few rooms as of Monday afternoon.

There may be another option for last-minute eclipse enthusiasts, if they don’t mind returning to a dorm room.

Just last week, we told you the University of Missouri will be letting non-students rent a room in some of its recently mothballed residence halls for some visitors and football fans.

MU spokesman Christian Basi said dorms would be available for fans and “others who want to visit on the weekends for various things including the eclipse where we know we’re going to have a multitude of people in town and space will be very, very tight across the region.”

Mizzou also has eclipse glasses for $1.49 each. Click here to visit the Mizzou Store.
