Boone County man charged with domestic assault

A Boone County man has been charged after being accused of hitting and strangling a woman.

Charles O’Bryant was arrested Thursday on Apple Tree Court.

Police were already in the area that day due to a reported hostage situation that turned out to be false.

That’s where they say they discovered an unrelated domestic assault between O’Bryant and a woman.

According to the woman, O’Bryant stole some medicine from her and grabbed her by the throat and struck her when she tried to take it back.

O’Bryant also allegedly demanded that the woman give him her money.

O’Bryant is now charged with second-degree domestic assault.

He has been arrested before, accused of assaulting the same woman.
