Mizzou Rec center clear after receiving bomb threat

Mizzou’s Rec Center was given the “all clear” after a bomb threat was called into police Friday night.

MU spokesperson Christian Basi confirmed the University of Missouri Police Department received the anonymous threat around 9:13 p.m.

The center had closed for the evening, but a few people were still inside. It was evacuated while officers and an explosive K-9 team checked each level of the building.

The search wrapped up just before midnight with no explosive device found.

Basi said there will be an investigation into who called in the threat.

The last bomb threat on Mizzou’s campus was during final’s week of Spring 2015.
