MSHP looking for driver possibly involved in US 63 fatal crash

The Missouri State Highway Patrol asked for help from the community on Wednesday to find the driver of a red minivan that was indirectly involved in a fatal crash that occurred May 19 on U.S. 63.

Kimberly M. Schumann, 21, Jacksonville, was the driver who died in the collision. According to the crash report, Schumann was driving south on U.S. 63, when she swerved to avoid the minivan that turned into her path.

The crash occurred just south of Highway 124, six miles west of Hallsville and eight miles north of Columbia.

Schumann’s vehicle crossed through the median and was struck by another vehicle that was going north on U.S. 63.

The minivan driver allegedly stopped for a moment before driving south on U.S. 63.

The minivan is described as a cherry red, newer model van and might not have any damage. The driver was a man with some gray hair.

MSHP asked if someone has any information regarding the crash or the whereabouts of the minivan to contact Trooper Grant A. Ayres at Troop F Headquarters, at 573-751-1000.
