Columbia police investigating after body found near Mizzou campus

An officer with the Columbia Police Department confirms a man was found dead in a field in the 500 block of High Street Sunday afternoon.

The officer said they were called to the scene around 2:50 p.m. after someone reported finding the body.

As of 5:15 p.m. CPD said it was waiting for the medical examiner to arrive on scene.

The officer said they don’t believe foul play was involved, but also couldn’t confirm if the man died from natural or other intentional causes until the medical examiner completed the investigation.
