Lightning likely cause of Route J house fire
UPDATE 10:13 a.m.: Crews have cleared the scene.
Fire crews said lightning was likely the cause of a fire at a home on Route J Sunday morning.
Firefighters were first called to the home in the 2400 block of Route J around 6:15 a.m.
Online dispatch records show 11 units responded to the fire.
Firefighters closed about 100-yards of one lane on Route J. They were able to avoid closing the road completely because they transferred water by tanker trucks.
Firefighters told our crews at the scene that the estimated cost of damage to the home is $125,000.
