Columbia police looking for robbery suspect

Columbia police are investigating a robbery that happened in the 3400 block of I-70 Drive Southeast Friday night.

Police responded to a Motel 6 around 9:40 p.m.

Police said a man entered an occupied motel room and assaulted a male victim inside.

They said the robber stole an undisclosed amount of money and other items from the victim, then fled the area.

The victim suffered minor injuries.

Police said they are looking for a white man in his mid-30’s, about 6 feet tall and 230 pounds, with long dark hair pulled into a ponytail. They said he was last seen wearing a green shirt and jeans.
