Two more rounds of storms this weekend
FRIDAY: Early morning showers will end as temps start in the 70s. Friday will be another hot and muggy day with temperatures rising into the lower 90s and heat indices in the upper 90s. A heat advisory is in effect until 7 PM Saturday for Saline, Pettis, and Benton counties. Skies will gradually clear becoming mostly sunny. Most areas will stay dry this afternoon, but isolated afternoon storms are possible.
TONIGHT: Another round of storms will make its way into mid-Mo as we head through the late evening hours. These storms will move in from the northwest, spreading southeast by early Saturday morning. A slight risk is in effect for southwest mid-Mo, with the greatest threat being damaging winds. Best timing of this looks to be from 3-8 AM.
EXTENDED: After morning storms push to the south, Saturday will be partly cloudy, hot & humid with highs in the low 90s and heat indices near 100 in the afternoon. Heat indices could climb as high as 107 in our northwestern counties Saturday. Storms will increase Saturday evening north of I-70 ahead of a cold front and will spread south through the night. Some portions of mid-Missouri to the southwest are in an enhanced risk. These overnight storms could be severe with damaging wind and large hail the primary threats. Rain ends Sunday morning as the cold front moves south, and cooler, less humid air moves in. High temperatures will stay in the low-mid 80s Sunday afternoon under partly cloudy skies. Dry weather will continue for the start of next work week with highs in the upper 80s. For additional weather updates follow us @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter and like us on Facebook.
