Waynesville man accused of breaking infant’s arm

A Waynesville man was accused of breaking an infant’s arm on Sunday.

According to official documents, Andrew Abram was feeding his two-month-old son. During the feeding, the infant became fussy and Abram got frustrated. The infant’s mother, Marita Loidl, heard the infant screaming and crying.

When Loidl went into the room that the infant and Abram was in, she saw the infant on Abram. She also saw a bruise on the infant’s left forearm.

The infant was taken to Mercy Clinic in Saint Robert, where an X-ray revealed fractures in the infant’s left arm. Abram said that he may have pulled the infant too hard when he started fussing and crying while being fed.

The infant’s injuries were not consistent with Abram’s explanation. The infant was taken into State custody and transported to Barnes Children Hospital in St. Louis. After further evaluation at Barnes Children Hospital, it was revealed that the two-month-old infant had two fractured ribs and chipped bones in his leg that were three to six weeks old.

Abram was charged with first degree endangering the welfare of a child and abuse of a child.
