Heat indices in the upper 90s

TODAY: This morning we will wake up to warm temperatures as overnight lows bottom out at 70 degrees. Hot and dry weather will persist into the day with temperatures reaching the lower 90s and heat indices in the mid to upper 90s by the afternoon. Although it will be a gorgeous, sunny day, make sure to stay hydrated and take regular breaks in a cool place if you will spend extended periods of time outside.

TONIGHT: The warm temperatures will stick with us through Monday evening. Temperatures will only bottom out near 70 degrees under mostly clear skies. We’ll see winds remain out of the south up to 9 mph with humid conditions.

EXTENDED: The 90 degree days will continue through Tuesday with muggy nights in the 70s. Our next chance of storms comes next Wednesday and Thursday as a cold front drops into Mid-Missouri. There won’t be a noticeable drop in temperatures behind the front, as we’ll only see one day in the upper 80s, before the 90s return. This front sets the stage for scattered showers and storms with a threat for high winds and hail. Most of this week features daily storm chances.
