Fulton man arrested after threatening woman with gun; police say

Fulton police responded to a call to check the well-being of a person near the 300 block of Westminster Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Sunday and arrested a man suspected to have threatened a victim with a gun.

Police said when they arrived they found a woman in distress.

Police discovered that Mitchell Chambers, 61 of Fulton, threatened to hurt the woman with a gun.

Police arrested Chambers without incident. They searched Chambers’ home and found a loaded handgun.

Chambers is being held at the Callaway County Jail on fourth-degree domestic assault, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action charges.

Chambers is also being held on suspicion of unlawful possession of a firearm because he is a felon.
