Gusty and hot Saturday afternoon

TODAY: Abundant sunshine and southerly winds will boost temperatures to near 90 degrees in the afternoon with winds at 7-16 mph, gusting to 25 mph at times. Heat indices may reach into the lower 90s, allowing for humid outdoor conditions by the afternoon. By tonight, those winds will reduce to 10 mph from the south with comfortable temperatures in the 70s.

SUNDAY: As we head into the last half of the weekend, humidity will gradually increase making the high temperature in the lower 90s feel like it is in the mid 90s. Southerly winds of 8-15 mph will gust up to 25 mph mainly west of HWY 63 Sunday afternoon. Clear skies and dry conditions will persist into Sunday evening.

EXTENDED: The 90 degree days will continue through Tuesday with muggy nights in the 70s. Our next chance of storms comes next Wednesday and Thursday as a cold front drops into Mid-Missouri. Temperatures will drop into the upper 80s for the second half of next week due to more clouds and rain chances.
