Suspect accused of holding girlfriend hostage arrested after manhunt in Pulaski Co.

A two-day manhunt in Pulaski County ended with the arrest of a suspect accused of holding his girlfriend hostage for days.

Pulaski County deputies arrested David Cook Friday night. They had been searching for Cook since Thursday after they were called about a domestic disturbance.

The victim told detectives that her boyfriend, David Cook, beat her, struck her with a gun and held her against her will for three days.

Deputies say Cook ran into the woods when they went to his home Thursday. An “extensive manhunt” then followed, in which the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Waynesville Police Department and Richland Police Department assisted.

Pulaski County deputies arrested Cook the following day near Boone Road.

He has since been charged with domestic assault in the first degree, armed criminal action, and kidnapping.

Cook is in the Pulaski County Jail with a $500,000 bond.
