Documents: Deadly Moniteau County shooting started with argument
EDITOR'S NOTE: The story has been corrected to say one person was killed.
CALIFORNIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A deadly shooting early Sunday in Moniteau County started with an argument that turned physical, investigators say.
One person was killed in the weekend shooting and two more were hit by gunfire. Another person was assaulted, the county sheriff's office said Monday.
Moniteau County's prosecutor charged Ethan Bondurant on Sunday with 10 felonies including first-degree murder and multiple counts of armed criminal action. He was set to be arraigned Tuesday.
A probable cause statement says Bondurant shot a victim identified only as J.B. to death. The three other victims identified Bondurant as the shooter, according to the statement. The statement did not say what led to the argument.
Bondurant is accused of pistol-whipping the victim who was not shot.
The statement says Bondurant admitted to shooting at the two people wounded by gunfire but would not say why the victim killed in the shooting had died.
No lawyer was listed for Bondurant in online court records. He remained Tuesday in the Moniteau County Jail without bond.
