CPD: Armed robbery at a Columbia grocery store

Columbia police responded to Clovers Natural Market at 2100 Chapel Plaza Court for reports of an armed robbery around 9 p.m. Friday.

Police said a man entered the store armed with a firearm and demanded money.

Police said the robber left in a red van after taking an undisclosed amount of money.

The robber is a black man in his early 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and last seen wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt and athletic-style pants, according to police.

No one was hurt and nothing was damaged during the robbery.

Police are investigating the robbery and asks if anyone has information to call the Columbia Police Department or CrimeStoppers at 573-875-TIPS.
