FBI, Missouri Attorney General assisting with DeBrodie investigation

Fulton Police Chief Steve Myers said the FBI and the Missouri Attorney General’s office are assisting in the death investigation of Carl DeBrodie.

“We’ve been joined in the investigation with the FBI, the Department of Health and Human Services and the Attorney General’s office,” Myers said. “They all have investigators here daily working on this case.”

Myers said federal charges are possible.

“This investigation is so complex and so large that we needed assistance,” Myers said.

Myers said they do not have anyone in custody, but have “several” persons of interest.

An autopsy for DeBrodie has been completed and investigators are waiting for lab tests to return. A cause of death has not been determined yet.

Investigators have also issued a second batch of search warrants in the case.

“We’re waiting on information to come back on all of those,” Myers said.

A funeral for DeBrodie is scheduled for Saturday morning in Jefferson City.
