Three men charged in Callaway Bank robbery

UPDATE: Three men jailed Thursday night were charged in federal court for a bank robbery that happened in east Columbia.

Larome Humphrey, Quinton Wilson, and Damien Powell were charged in Thursday’s robbery of the Callaway Bank near the Lake of the Woods.

Investigators said Humphrey and Powell pointed a gun at a teller’s head before the group made off with around $2,500.

The men were later stopped on Highway 54, near Fulton.

A one-year-old boy found in the vehicle was turned over to family services.

ORIGINAL STORY: ABC 17 News is working to find out why three men are jailed on suspicion of robbery and weapon charges.

Our crews checked jail records and found Larome Humphrey, Quinton Wilson, and Damien Powell are in the Boone County Jail right now.

All three are accused of first degree robbery, armed criminal action and endangering the welfare of a child.

Jail records say the men were booked in jail around 10:30 Thursday night, and formal charges are not yet filed according to a search of records on Case Net.

This comes just a day after the Callaway Bank at the Lake of the Woods exit in Columbia was robbed at gunpoint.

Police later told ABC 17 News they arrested three men after a chase and crash. They also say they found a young child in the suspect vehicle.

ABC 17 News is working to find out if these are the men police arrested in connection with that robbery.

All three suspect are expected to appear in court Friday afternoon.
