Tracking the return of rain this morning
FRIDAY
Rain will be off and on throughout the morning. The more consistent showery activity will favor areas closer to the Mississippi River. Temperatures will start out mild and reach the low 50’s early this afternoon. As those showers thin out in coverage, by 3-4 PM, winds will pick up and temperatures will start to drop.
TONIGHT
We’ll fall into the 30’s by 8:00 PM, into the 20’s by midnight and bottom out in the teens by daybreak. With winds gusting up to 25 mph overnight, wind chills will hover in the single-digits.
EXTENDED
We’ll be treated to some sunshine on Saturday but stuck in the 20’s for highs to start the weekend. Another fast-moving system will slide through early on Sunday, bringing a threat of flurries early in the day. This doesn’t appear to be an impactful system, with those flurries moving east by mid-morning. Highs will be a touch warmer on Sunday, in the upper 30’s to low 40’s. We keep the warming trend up on Monday, getting into the upper 40’s. Temperatures reach the upper 50’s on Tuesday before rain chances return Wednesday. Even those won’t keep highs from threatening 60 on Wednesday.
