One killed, one critically hurt in Jefferson City motorcycle crash

The Jefferson City Police Department Traffic Unit is investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle.

Police say it happened around 11:30 Thursday night in the 700 block of Clark Avenue.

They say they arrived to find 38-year-old Shawn Cochran dead and say a female was also laying in the street with serious injuries.

Police say the driver lost control of the bike around a curve before it hit a curb, a utility pole and a road sign.

They say both people were thrown from the bike.

31-year-old Morrigan Carpenter was flown to University Hospital in Columbia with critical injuries.

We’re still working to get an update on her condition.
