Mizzou WBB comes out cold in loss to Ole Miss

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou women's basketball team started slow and could never recover against Ole Miss on Thursday. The Rebels beat the Tigers 61-45 to snap a 13-game losing streak against Mizzou.

It was MU's first ever loss to Ole Miss at Mizzou Arena. Before Thursday, the Rebels hadn't beaten the Tigers since 1981. Mizzou still leads the all-time series 13-2.

The Tigers were held to just 14 first half points. They had only six points in the second quarter.

MU was 0-for-7 from three-point range. The Tigers also had 21 turnovers. Ole Miss owned the Tigers on the glass as well. The Rebels out-rebounded MU 38-26.

LaDazhia Williams was the lone bright spot for the Tigers. She led MU with a game-high 24 points.

The Tigers are now 16-7 overall and 5-5 in the SEC. Up next - MU will play at Tennessee on Thursday, Feb. 10 at 5:30 p.m.
