Structure fire closes part of Business Loop 70 in Columbia

Firefighters were working to extinguish a blaze at a business in Columbia Thursday night.

Crews were called to Ashland Auto Sales around 5:45 p.m. after employees were closing up shop for the day and smelled something burning.

Part of the Business Loop was closed while crews responded.

Flames died out and smoke continued to rise from the building after 7 p.m.

Crews are working to determine what caused the fire and what the estimated cost of damages will be.

As of 7:15 p.m. Thursday, there were no known injuries.
