Minor snow accumulation possible Saturday
Light snow will increase after 2 AM and become more steady toward daybreak Saturday along and just north of I-70, moving south of I-70 through mid-afternoon and ending by early evening near I-44. Due to warm ground temperatures, initially snow will melt but eventually stick mainly on grassy surfaces Saturday morning. Untreated roads could be slushy with slick areas Saturday morning. Up to 1 inch of snow is likely with some areas possibly seeing only a dusting while a narrow band of 1-2″ could fall. At this time it looks like that heavier band will end up close to I-70.
Temperatures will start off in the 20s with wind chills in the teens Saturday morning but will climb to 32-25 in the afternoon, allowing some snow to melt and slush on untreated roads to melt.
