Tracking a warmer weekend

TONIGHT

Minor snow accumulations, mostly around a dusting, have been reported this morning. Flurries were forecast for this morning, but it appears the system that passed through was able to make better snow rates than expected. Still, this system is now to our east, and we will likely see the dusting melt as temperatures climb into the high 30s and low 40s. This evening a cold front will pass through, dropping temperatures once more, down into the teens overnight. Clouds will hang on through the night, with a chance for a passing flurry early Friday morning before sunrise. THIS potential has access to much less moisture, and confidence is high that we won't see the same potential for any accumulation.

FRIDAY

Clouds will start to filter out as cooler air filters in. Temperatures Friday will struggle to climb into the low 30s. Most will settle for upper 20s. High pressure brings mostly sunny skies. As that high pressure slides east, we will drive winds out of the south. This will pump up temperatures early this weekend.

EXTENDED

We warm back up into the 40’s Saturday, and the sunshine will stick around. A quick wave from a weak low passes on Sunday, but we stay dry, and temperatures will only drop a few degrees. Sunday stays in the low 40s. As winds turn southerly again on Monday,We’ll push the envelope a bit further, reaching the middle 50s! We’ll still top out in the 50’s Tuesday but rain chances will return to the area. That could transition over to something wintry as colder air returns by the middle of next week. Highs will fall back into the 30’s with lows in the teens Wednesday, so it will depend on how things shake out. We’re still in a wait-and-see-approach but we have something to track this weekend.
